Research and Implementation of EVRC Speech Codec

The principle of EVRC(Enhanced Vriable Rate Codec), which is widely used in CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) systems, is introduced. The key technologies such as noise suppression, module parameter estimation, and rate decision are analyzed. The simulation of EVRC is implemented in floating point C, and the results show that it can provide higher quality synthesized speech by lower average speech coding rate.
