Interval-valued fuzzy model of image and its application to image retrieval

A new interval-valued fuzzy model for images based on the nonuniform color quantization in the HSV color space is proposed.The image can be treated as an interval-valued fuzzy set (IVFS) with this model.An interval-valued fuzzy similarity measure based on Lp distance is presented and used for real content-based image retrieval system.The various experimental results show that the proposed similarity measure is comparable to general fuzzy similarity measures and conventional histogram distances in the literature.
