Analysis and Improvement of S-MAC Protocol of Wireless Sensor Network

Wireless sensor network is an emerging technology that has a wide range of potential applications including environment monitoring, smart spaces, medical systems and robotic exploration. Medium access control(MAC) is one of the most important protocols that enables the efficient operation of the network. Describes S-MAC, a typical MAC protocol for wireless sensor network, completely, points out some disadvantages of this protocol and give some solutions for improvement.
