The Basic Principle of ROC Curve Analysis and Application in Physical Fitness and Health Promotion Studies

The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis is a well-known device used to'summarize the accuracy of a diagnostic or screening test in the clinical medicine and ep- idemiological fields.In recent years,it has also been used in physical fitness and health promo- tion studies.This paper introduced the basic principle of ROC curve analysis and the results of physical fitness and health promotion studies using this method.Furthermore,construction of the ROC curve and matters needing attention when using this method were described.
