Data Farming: A Cooperative-based Exploratory Simulation Analysis Method

War system is a typical complex system, and the research of information warfare needs the guide of complexity theory and a new type of war simulation. Data farming is an effective method of exploringly analysing complex war system. The motivation, basic concepts and research methods of data farming were introduced. The multi-domains experts cooperative-based data farming loop was emphasized, includeing the scenario creation loop and the scenario run space execution loop. The supporting key technologies of data farming were analyzed, which consise of the question based modeling, distillation, multi-dimensionality data visualization and high performance computing, etc. The relationship between exploratory simulation analysis and data farming was discussed.
