Application Design of NAND FLASH in WINCE.NET System

This paper presents an application design of NAND Flash in WINCE.net system. The prineiple and the differences of NAND Flash and NOR Flash were introducde and the hardware connection design and the implementation of flash media driver in Windows CE.net system and how to adjust the register of memory controller to control the timing in order to optimize the read and write operation were descsibed. After the optimization, the average speed of reading NAND Flash is about 1.3 Mbyte/s and speed of writing is about 0.8 Mbyte/s.The NAND Flash driver has been tested by Microsoft’s Windows CE test kit-CETK and runs well on this PDA system.
