Research on Best Zero-block Detection in H.264

In order to decrease the complexity of video coder,H.264 employs a matrix of scaling factors in the transform and quantization.By eliminating the matrix of scaling factors in the transform and quantization,it derives the best zero-block detection threshold relating only with the quantization parameter(QP).Then it proposes a motion estimation algorithm based on zero-block detection.Experimental results show that this algorithm is very efficient in real time mid or low bit rate video encoding.
