Fundamental technique for wireless sensor networks:Time synchronization

A basic technique in wireless sensor networks(WSNs) —time synchronization is mainly introduced,which is essential for many WSNs applications.Traditionaltime synchronization approachesare presented,and the reason why they are not suitable for WSNs is analyzed;then some time synchronization algorithms specially developed for WSNs are described in detailed.By comparison with each other,the advantage and disadvantage are pointed out respectively.The uncertainty affects the precision of time synchronization,especially the latency.Therefore,the impact of uncertainties in radio message delivery is discussed.
