Development of the Integrated Vessel Information Service System Based on ECDIS and AIS

The necessity to develop an Integrated Vessel Information Service System based on ECDIS and AIS(IVISSEA) is elaborated in the paper.The topology and function framework of IVISSEA on the basis of marine traffic engineering theory and user's needs is designed.Then,its subsystems such as AIS data collection,ECDIS,data analysis and online query,system administration and log monitor are introduced.Also,some key techniques such as data transmission,database and data warehouse,information display and display control are discussed.This system will provide an integrated information platform for navigation enterprise,marine administration agency and research institutions and has been proved to be practical and have a bright prospect of application.
