Radiation Therapy Information System and DICOM

With the wide applications of digital imaging modalities in hospital, the DICOM protocol is adopted by more and more medical device manufactures and PACS vendors. However, in the past few years, it seems rather slow for the DICOM protocol to be applied and developed in radiation therapy. Here we present a new method to design and develop the DICOM based radiation therapy information system and introduce some key components of it in this paper.
