Multi-fault diagnosis method on Mallat pyramidal algorithm wavelet analysis

A method for multi-fault diagnosis based on wavelet multiresolution in Mallat pyramidal algorithm is presented. By using the character of wavelet multiresolution, the signal of a system is decomposed at multiple-scale. According to the relationship between the maximum wavelet coefficient modules of high frequency parts of the signal at different level and their positions in the coefficient sequences, those faults are diagnosised in the system. The way for extracting the features of those faults is given. The validity and feasibility of the fault diagnosis method is demonstrated by a simulation.
