A LEGENDRE-MOMENT BASED REGION FILLING METHOD

The purpose of this paper is to develop a region filling method based on Legendre moment. The method not only provides a satisfactory region filling, but also can smooth the sharp angles and edges of the region to be filled. So, it can play an important role in three dimensional medical image process and reconstruction. First this paper introduces the concept of Legendre moments and its inverse transform, then presents the algorithm, approach and basic principle for region filling using Legendre moments and its inverse transform. Finally, some experiment results are presented to show the efficiency of the method.
