Line Snake and its application in building extraction

Based on line detection, we introduce a line snake algorithm with vertices of traditional snakes replaced by straight line exemplars. Through the preliminary organization and interpretation functions of middle-level image processing techniques (e.g., line detection) for the chaotic low-level image information, the proposed method reduces the computational, reinforces the stability and robustness of snakes, and achieves a favorable performance in building extraction from aerial images.
