A Study of Cache in Cluster-based VOD Proxy

In cluster-based VOD proxy that has more than one server,the configuration strategy,which is the distribution of the cache on each server,can improve the utilization of the cache greatly,and the system's performances will be improved as a result.However,in the existing algorithm,dynamic cache reconfiguration(DCR),part of the movies could not be cached completely and the cache space is wasted.To solve this problem,an improved algorithm is proposed.By completely caching all movies required,the algorithm improves the utilization of the cache.Experiment shows that using the improved algorithm,the system achieves higher cache hit ratio and so higher performance.
