Mode decision becomes very complexity when H.264/AVC introduces varible block size about motion estimation. To address the issue,in this paper a novel concept about same mode structure of neighboring macroblock is proposed.Furthermore,a fast mode decision algorithm by gaining the direction and value about motion vector of current macroblock is also proposed, and the mode focuses on 8×8 at the beginning for expanding the block size with correcting motion vector.Simulation shows that the proposed algorithm can efficiently improve the coding speed with similar visual quality.
