An expert system for Selection of Water-saving Irrigation Project Type was developed based on frame-network. Introduction of some concepts, such as succession and re-load, insidious-matching, acquiescent-matching, making the knowledge expression and inference process to be more suitable to selection of water-saving irrigation project type. The standard knowledge bank of the new system covers nearly all common water-saving irrigation project types, which improve the practicability of the new expert system.
