Methods of medical-image segmentation

Image segmentation is the basic technology in image process and computer vision fields, and also is the important part of most image analysis and computer vision system. Medical-image segmentation is the main applied domain in image segmentation. It is more and more important during clinical diagnosis and treatment. Hundreds of methods have been put forward to medical-image segmentation. However, there is not a best method to segment as yet and there is not method to evaluate the segmentation. The current widely used methods are summaried in medical-image segmentation. The characteristics and range of application of these ways are di- scussed.
