Video compression standard H.264/AVC has high compression ratio, but the coding time cost long and the algorithm is complex. This paper presented a macro block based on MAD values pre-determine selection mode.If the intra 4×4 prediction mode was chosen,it used the correlation between neighboring blocks and neighboring direction prediction mode to predict the intra-frame mode.Experimental results show that compared with the full searching algorithm, this algorithm can decrease the coding time by 73% and only increases the output video bit rate by 2.14% without the variety of PSNR.
