Based on the spectral correlation theory, the second-order cyclostationarity of cyclostationary signals is briefly discussed and then it is used for the TDOA estimation of continuous wave signals.Four models and algorithms based on this theory are introduced. These methods are more robust against noise and interference than the conventional generalized cross-correlation methods, which can work in highly corruptive environment. In order to evaluate these given models and to find the most practicable model, computer simulations are performed and then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The simulation results confirmed the high tolerance to noise of these methods mentioned above and also showed the feasible method in practice.
