： Knowledge-oriented economy results from the computerised s ociety. IT, as the key technology in hi-tech, is the main technical support to t he economy. Linguistics, which studies the language, the most important informat ion carrier of human beings, contributes much to the development of IT and IT in dustry; the development of knowledge-oriented economy and IT in return provides broader study scope and application space for linguistics.
