A pitch detection method for three-syllabic word of Chinese continuous speech tone

The continuous Chinese tone of three syllabic word is very complicated and its pitch detection is more difficult than that of isolated word because of the effects of vocal response,syllable conjunction,coarticulation and tone sandhi. In this paper, by using the simplified autocorrelation method, the influence of clipping value on the pitch detection of three syllabic word is analyzed, the range of clipping value is gained,and the viewpoint of various clipping value for the pitch detction of three syllabic word is presented.Based on aforementioned works, the method of pitch detection of three syllabic word is given. Experiment results show that the method is simple, speedy and accurate.Finally,tone sandhi and tone patterns for three syllabic word are discussed based on the experiment.
