A Message-Based Analysis of Fault Propagation in Cloud Computing System

In cloud computing systems, fault detection can help improving the reliabilities of each component and the whole system. In this paper, we propose a fault detection method based on messages in message queue. By analyzing the general structure of cloud computing system and the injecting faults into a cloud computing system based on OpenStack, we get the fault spreading process in this system. The results of faulting injection shows the effectiveness of the fault detection method based on messages.
