A dynamic defense algorithm is presented to defend a server against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. The algorithm based on the Symmetry of flow and Aggregate Congestion Control (ACC). It primarily limits the aggregate in the target combined with restricting the output from the attack sourses. The results of simulation indicate that the algorithm is a promising approach to countering DDoS attacks and will be better in the large-scale network.
