Research on Reliable IP Multicast Transport Protocol RMSA

In this paper a novel reliable multicast transport protocol(RMSA) is presented.A scheme driven by the multicast sender for multicast receivers to select retransmission-processing node dynamically is used in reliable multicast protocol for the first time.RMSA can be used in large-scale multicast applications,which may have highly dynamic membership and thus highly variable topology.Simulation results show that RMSA has lower data recovery latency and fewer duplicate retransmission packages.Furthermore,RMSA is easy to implement in current multicast network because it requires fewer router modifications compared with other router-aided reliable multicast protocols(LMS,PGM).
