Self-feedback Fault Detection Algorithm for Peer-to-Peer Storage System

Yaping Wan, Dan Feng · 2010

Peer-to-Peer(P2P) storage systems have a lot of attractive advantages, such as self-organizing,scalability and fault tolerance.Fault detection must be one of basic components to build a reliable P2P storage systems. To address the highly dynamic characteristics of system nodes,a self-tuning heartbeat fault detection algorithm, which can combine heartbeat strategy with unbiased grey prediction model, was designed to improve the fault detection quality of system (QoS) according to the application needs and network environment changes. The results show that,on the basis of the algorithm implementation, fault detectors have better performance.
