Atherosclerosis can cause cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and do great harm to human health. Recent researches on the mechanisms of atherosclerosis show that oxidized low density lipoprotein(ox-LDL) is one of the most important factors which cause the initiation and development of atherosclerosis. Researches on the new drugs that can inhibit the oxidation of low density lipoprotein(LDL) will provide a new method to develop new drugs to protect the artery from developing atherosclerosis.
