A kind of lifting 9-7-tap wavelet filter for hardware implementation

The lifting scheme is an efficient method for construction of the wavelet after multiresolution. This paper describes the construction of a kind of lifting 97tap wavelet filter for hardware implementation, called D97, which not only has excellent compression performance but also is very suitable for the implementation of ASIC. The computational complexity of the new lifting wavelet filter is enormously reduced because of the introduction of the shift operation. The experimental result shows that D97 is an ideal replacement of CDF97 in loss image compression.
