It is only on the basis of groundwater-simulated model that GIS can be applied to groundwater resource evaluation and management effectively. There are three different approaches to integrate groundwater numeric model and Geographical Information System (GIS), embedded integration, loose coupling and tight coupling. A fully coupling scheme was used to couple groundwater numeric model with MapObjects by component and objectoriented method. The integrated system has changed traditional modeling mode in such aspects as objectoriented modeling, preprocessing, parameters setting, and postprocessing. The paper concludes that incorporation of groundwatersimulated model into a GIS has improved matters by streamlining data input, providing better interpretation of model outputs, and improving modeling efficiency.
