Standardization Research of Metadata Structure and Data Element

The metadata standardization is a basis of health information standardization and an important guarantee for realizing information sharing and utilization.Metadata offers the information required by understanding and precisely explaining data element,which is the carrier of data element standard.According to the relevant metadata criteria and international standard ISO/IEC 11179-information technology/metadata registration,the main metadata in health infor- mation field contains data element,object class,characteristics,data element concept,representation,range,glossary, as well as DataSet,etc.Various metadata and relevant relations could be expressed with metadata structure diagram. Based on metadata structure,it could make structural description on attribute of each aspect,so as to realize the concep- tive standardization of data element to formal standardization.
