Medical X-ray Image Enhancement Based on Histogram Equalization and Wavelet

A new schemer for X-ray image enhancement using Wavelet-based histogram equalization was presented to deal with the X-ray image with too low in contract and too dark for the naked eye.The histogram equalization can enhance the contract by redistribut ing the gray level,it has the drawback that it reduce the information in the processed image.This algorithm can enhance the image and compensate for th information loss during histogram equalization.Experimental results show that the Wavelet-based enhancement algo rithm can enhance the contract and significantly increase the informational entropy of the image.
