Application of a Genetic Algorithm Based on Stochastic Simulation for Estimating Origin-Destination Matrices

It's usually unlikely to survey adequate links which number are not less than the variable numbers of O D matrices estimated through traffic counts as far as a complicated network is concerned. Even one can do it, it's difficult to obtain a satisfied solution in short times because the O D pairs are less constrained. This paper presents a gentic algorithm method based on stochastic simulation by defining possible intervals of O D pairs in advance. Through a simulation test on a simple road network,the method is proved to be reasonable and effective.
