An Approximation Algorithm of D-S Evidence Theory and Its Application in Data Fusion

This paper analyzes the data fusion method based on the D-S evidence theory.Dempster's combination operator is a poor solution for the management of the conflict among the various information sources at the normalization step.Conflict man- agement is a major problem especially during the fusion of various information sources.In this paper,a new approximation algo- rithm is proposed to combine conflicting evidence.The efficiency and feasibility of this method are validated through computer sim- ulatied results.
