Analysis of a Fault Event Caused by Equipment Design Defect

Equipment fault may occur due to design or manufacture defect.A fault event caused by the voltage transformer equipped into the 110 kV gas insulated metal-clad switchgear(GIS) is described and the cause of the fault is analyzed.With a further observation and test,it is concluded that the design defect led to the fault event,the conclusion provides the reference and should be attracted attention.
