Review of Studies on Virtual Reality in Philosophy

Through the clarification and summing-up of the philosophical research on virtual reality,the paper has reduced the research to six problems:1. What is virtual reality? 2. Will virtual reality lead to the impossibility to distinguish the real from the virtual? 3. Will virtual reality lead to the collapse of realism? 4. What is the relation between virtual practice and practice? 5. What is the influence of virtual reality on the relation between the subject and object? 6. What is the influence of virtual reality on traditional philosophy? The viewpoints of each problem are clarified and evaluated. It is eventually proposed that the philosophical interpretation of virtual reality is in the fundamental position in the philosophical research on virtual reality. The comprehension of this problem will exert a direct impact on the comprehension of other problems. And the research on this problem should surpass the scientific and objective research approach and raise virtual reality from the present technical layer to the philosophical height. This is the cardinal task to conduct the philosophical research on virtual reality.
