Real-Time Tracking of Time-Varying Time-Delay

Tan Naiwen · Control theory & applications · 1992

Based on reference [4], this paper studied the properties of the algorithm searching for time-delay by reducing the order. It is confirmed that the estimation of the time-delay is not related to the model order, and independent of the impulsive magnitude of the input pulse. We have obtained the conditions for judging the effectiveness in the estimation of time-delay. The problem of searching for time-delay is transformed into a problem of searching for minimal samples, and a fast method for identifying the time-delay is developed. Simulations show the capabilities of tracking the true time-delay in operation, without the need of any priori knowledge about the structure and parameters of the system. In addition, we can also track the variance of the time-delay by employing the method.
