A distributed hybrid reservation multiple access(DHRMA)protocol for MANETs

Yanling Zhang · Journal of Xi'an University of Post and Telecommunications · 2005

In this paper,an improved D-PRMA protocol named as distributed hybrid reservation multiple access(DHRMA)protocol for mobile ad hoc networks(MANETs)is proposed. The reservation mechanism and the slot statute table are adopted in the DHRMA protocol to avoid collisions and resolve the hidden terminal and exposed terminal problems. Thus, this protocol provides a very efficient spatial reuse of the bandwidth and greatly increases the throughput. The quality of service(QoS)requirements of real-time traffic are guaranteed by giving it priority.Furthermore,an interactive synchronous technology is introduced in the scheme to realize the synchronization between the nodes in the network, which is independent on the other networks, such as GPS,etc.
