Survey on protocol reverse engineering based on network data

Based on the analysis of the characteristics of protocol reverse engineering from network data,the network protocol reverse analysis was divided into three phases:protocol data classification,protocol format analysis and protocol state inference.The tasks,goals and basic technical process of the three phases were proposed,and the current researches of key technology at all phases were discussed.Then the important research results were evaluated,and several problems and study difficulties were analyzed.The future hot issues and the development directions of study on protocol reverse engineering based on network data were pointed out.
