High capacity reversible data hiding algorithm based on prediction error difference expansion

A high capacity reversible data hiding algorithm for color images based on prediction error difference expansion is proposed.To avoid the drawback of Tian′s algorithm which must embed a location map and the quality decline of stego-images from excessive modulation to pixels,this algorithm uses the correlation of color components to decrease difference and disperse smaller expansion to two components,and uses LSB replacing method to separate the process of difference expansion and data embedding,so the quantity of un-expandable difference is decreased.Final,the method uses twice expandability of difference to locate un-expandable difference,and embeds a few indicate flags instead of location map,so the payload capacity is increased.Experimental results show the payload capacity and the quality of stego-image is significantly improved compared with other new or classical algorithms.
