Development of a Video Capture and Preview System

Developes a new system used to capture the live composite video signal to the hard disk and preview it in real time. The development process is described in three steps. Firstly, development of the capture and preview hardware adapter based on the Fusion878A. Secondly, develoment of the kernel WDM driver for the hardware adapter. Finally, development of the DirectShow application software. In every step the technical procedures and difficulties are described in detail. The video stream capture and preview system has been developed successfully. Experiments proved that the system can capture composite video signals and save it as files in the hard disk, and the system can preview the video signal.
