The network channel allocation depends on the medium access control(MAC) protocol in wireless sensor network, and MAC protocol has a significant impact on network performance. At present have various MAC protocols, among them the S-MAC protocol is a typical MAC protocol for wireless sensor network, but this protocol has some defects,so it can not adapt to the changing sensor network.According to this problem, and considering the functions of adaptive backoff window and the thought of forecasting data flow according to the node's length of queueing,a new MAC protocol(Q-MAC protocol) is proposed based on S-MAC,which achieves the better prediction result. And compared with S-MAC protocol, this protocol has improved a lot in the average delay of packets, the throughput and the energy consumption by NS2 simulation.
