The application of ovarian dissection in the research on migratory insects in China

Ovarian dissection,an important technology in the research on insect reproductive development,played a critical role in the study on migration and forecasting of major agricultural insect pests.The progress in the field of ovarian dissection,grading criteria of ovarian development,type of ovarian development and its application in research on insect migration and forecast in China in the past 50 years was reviewed,and some scientific problems and perspectives in this field were proposed in this paper.
