Method for multi-criteria decision with indefinite information based on evidential reasoning and its application

Jian‐qiang Wang · Systems engineering and electronics · 2005

A method for multi-criteria decision based on evidential reasoning is proposed, so that the multi-criteria decision problem with indefinite information and indefinite criteria values is solved. First, by analyzing the indefinite information of weight coefficients given by decision maker, a group of cardinal weights are attained. Then the alternative's criteria values are integrated by evidential reasoning approach. The utilities of the alternatives under all the cardinal weights are compared, then the ranking of the alternatives is determined. Finally, an example is given to show the feasibility and availability of this method.
