Data-driven Language Learning the Paradigm-shift

Lack of paradigm study is one of the difficulties that facing corpus application in language teaching. This paper makes a brief illustration on the procedure and characteristics of Data-driven Language Learning and maintains that the paradigm displays distinguished features in teaching philosophy, content and teaching materials as compared to traditional teaching paradigm and that the paradigm contributes to the solution of problems like learner autonomy, balance between fluency and accuracy, and grammar consciousness in language teaching. A thorough understanding of basic cognitive concepts is of absolute necessity in its application.
