Detection of SAR Image Ship Wake Based on Hough Transform

A novel method for ship wake detection based on Hough transformation and K-means clustering is proposed.Using normalized Hough transformation,line average energy ship wake lied in is calculated.Due to irregularity of ship wakes,in some circumstances,energy maximum is not an ideal representative for ship wakes.There are some near-maximum energies surrounding maximum energy,and these near-maximum energies always form a set,which as a whole could be seen as good representative for ship wakes.In the paper,K-means is applied to cluster near-maximum energies.The experimental results show that ship wakes could be detected effectively.
