Pre-coding design based on the new quasi-orthogonal STBC

In order to improve the MIMO system performance of quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes, the authors proposed a method which combines the quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes and pre-coded matrix. After the quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes, the information has to be improved by the linear pre-coded matrixand then sent out through the transmitting antenna. And a new quasi-orthogonal block code which has better performance than the general application of quasi-orthogonal coding is applied in the design. The design of pre-coded matrix employs the average non-zero matrix and correlation matrix from MIMO channel, and the probability of error in pairs (PEP) as the optimal design criteria. Simulation shows that comparing to a non pre-coded matrix system and the general quasi-orthogonal coding which combines the pre-coded system, the bit error rate of the newsystem has been improved significantly.
