Analysis of Research Efficiency of Chinese Key Universities

This paper makes a review of main studies on Chinese university evaluation,and evaluates the research efficiency of 40 Chinese key science and technology universities with data envelopment analysis. The result shows that there are 14 colleges and universities whose efficiencies are 100%,8 colleges and universities whose efficiencies are between 80%-90%,14 colleges and universities whose efficiencies are between 60%-70%,4 colleges and universities whose efficiencies are between 30%-60%. It also calculates the MPSS( Most Productive Scale Size) of the 40 universities.
