This paper introduces the common scrambling algorithm in the DVB conditional access system. It analyzes the structure of CSA and the procedure of the block cipher and the stream cipher. Then it puts up with a hardware implementation scheme and simplifies the sub-key generation process of the block cipher. At last, the paper realizes the scheme in a FPGA chip and verifies it through simulation and the actual code scrambling test.
