Based on former protocols, we propose a simpler way to realize the absolute self-calibration of quantum efficiency of a single photon detector. We replace coincidence counter system with coaxial transmission line and DAQ (data acquisition) device to reduce the complexity. As we know, a pulse will reverse at the short circuit termination. Using this character and setting the coaxial transmission line in precise length, we can distinguish between single pulse and two continuous pulses in one sampling period of DAQ. After recording and analyzing the data, we will get the quantum efficiency of the detector. This protocol need neither any other reference standard nor another detector.
