Application about the Hough Transform in Geometrical Property Measurement

The paper introduces the principle of the Hough transformation and studies the point-line duality of the Hough transformation.It also analyzed the theory of detecting the angle and distance of parallel pieces,and put forward a method to measure the aperture of triangle and diamond as well as the axial length of ellipse based on the Hough transformation.The computer simulation measurement results indicate that Hough transformation has peculiarity in detecting the target which is composed of the straight pieces,it can transform the detection target to the parameter space from the target space,and it will avoid the complex arithmetic on the target classification and(encoding) in object space detection,therefore it makes the parameter measurement become simpler and easier to solve.The findings can be widely applied to the automatic survey of fibre,aperture and so on.
