Elementary Statistical Properties in DHT and Their Application

Starting from the result that the intervals between nodes obey the geometric distribution and based on the probability theory,the rules of intervals distribution on Distributed Hash Table(DHT) and the probabilistic properties of the number of nodes appearing on a section of address space were studied.After that,control limit of nodes and the load balance of two kinds of DHT networks were analyzed.The network size was estimated by measuring the average number of nodes in a section of address space.The results showed that the loads of nodes in Chord network are imbalanced,great improvement of load balance is obtained in Pastry because of its slight difference of nodes control limit with Chord,and the problem of estimating network size is equivalent to the problem of estimating the parameter of a passion process.
